Offering box thieves injure man while fleeing in a car

Spectacular incident in Rietz in the Tyrolean district of Imst! Two offering box thieves were caught red-handed by an employee of the parish. The perpetrators managed to escape by car. However, they dragged a parish worker ten meters with them.

The incident took place on Tuesday at around 12.45 pm. In the parish in Rietz, an employee saw two initially unknown perpetrators trying to fish money out of an offering box. "The employee left the church unnoticed and informed the police," said the investigators.

The whereabouts of the two men are unknown. They are wanted.

Blocked exit broken through
The officers and church workers tried to block the exit. Nevertheless, the perpetrators managed to escape in their car. "They dragged a municipal worker around ten meters before he fell." Fortunately, the man was only slightly injured. 

Following investigations by the Silz police station, the Tyrolean State Office of Criminal Investigation and the German police, two men from Romania (19 and 38) were identified as suspects. It is not known where they are. The men are wanted.
