Pensioners run over and fled the scene

Driving is prohibited here, but a cyclist in Schärding did not comply. And drove straight over a pensioner. But instead of looking after the accident victim, the cyclist pedaled off. The police are now looking for him and there are also witnesses.

An as yet unknown cyclist fled the scene at around 11.10 a.m. on Friday after colliding with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 77-year-old Innviertler from Schärding, was walking with his dog on a lead on the Inn promenade in Schärding coming from the Wassertor in the direction of the Alte Brücke. Despite the driving ban, a cyclist came towards him and collided with him.

Two witnesses helped
The pensioner fell and two witnesses came to his aid. The cyclist also stopped briefly, but then simply drove on without giving his details or providing assistance. The pedestrian was unable to get up on his own. He suffered injuries of indeterminate severity and was taken to Schärding Hospital. The Schärding police inspectorate is asking for information by calling 059133 4270.
