Cyclist chased fleeing car driver after accident

There was an unusual chase in Salzburg-Itzling on Wednesday evening! After a cyclist crashed due to the maneuver of a car, he took up the pursuit of the fleeing car driver. 

At around 5 p.m., the 38-year-old was cycling out of town on the Mayburger-Kai on the Salzach in Salzburg-Itzling. A car turned onto the quay from the right and took his right of way, causing the cyclist to fall. In shock, the man got back on his bike and tried to catch up with the car to confront the driver.

He was unable to do so. When he arrived home, he noticed injuries and called the ambulance. The police then recorded the accident and it turned out that the cyclist himself had 0.86 per mille alcohol in his blood. For this reason, he will be charged.
