Crash on the A9: Truck driver simply drove on

On Monday afternoon, a 55-year-old female driver collided with a truck on the A9 Pyhrnautobahn (Graz-Umgebung district). She was thrown across the second and third lanes, crashed into another articulated vehicle and finally hit the concrete wall. However, the alleged perpetrator of the accident committed a hit-and-run.

It was shortly after 4 p.m. when a 55-year-old woman from the district of Graz-Umgebung was driving her car in the first lane of the A9 Pyhrnautobahn just before the Plabutsch tunnel in the direction of Linz. An unknown truck driver apparently overlooked her lane change and hit the vehicle in the area of the left rear door.

Driver crashed into concrete crash barrier
As a result, the 55-year-old said she was thrown across the second and third lanes and crashed into the front of another truck. In the end, she also ended up in the concrete crash barrier. The person responsible for the accident simply drove on.

The (routine) alcohol test was negative for both the woman involved in the accident and the second truck driver (48). Both were taken to Graz Regional Hospital by the ambulance service.
