Kabeg works council member becomes new deputy mayor of Klagenfurt

After Klagenfurt's deputy mayor Philipp Liesnig withdrew from politics in the provincial capital following the chat affair, as we reported, Ronald Rabitsch is now to try his luck in Klagenfurt's town hall.

The Klagenfurt Social Democrats elected Ronald Rabitsch as Philipp Liesnig's successor with the unanimous support of the entire district party executive.
"Just as I have been there for the 8,000 colleagues at Kabeg with all my heart, I will be there for all Klagenfurt residents in the future," said Rabitsch in his first statement. 

Kucher and Kaiser involved in the decision
Provincial party leader Peter Kaiser and Klagenfurt district party leader Philip Kucher speak of a "decision for the future" in the provincial capital. Ronald Rabitsch's predecessor, Philipp Liesnig, stumbled across a chat affair last week and had to announce his resignation.

More information on the new start of the Klagenfurt Social Democrats will be provided at a press conference on Tuesday at 9.30 am.
