Horrific act in Dornbirn! Several teenagers tried to set fire to a 65-year-old female patient in the inner courtyard of the municipal hospital on Saturday. The boys, aged between 15 and 16, are now being sought.

According to the police, the 65-year-old woman, who was attached to a mobile oxygen machine, was jostled by one of the youths. When she reprimanded the youths, they shouted back.

After a brief exchange of words between the patient and the teenagers, one of them allegedly tried to light the tube, which was clamped onto the woman's nose and supplied her with oxygen, with a smouldering cigarette. The boy then announced: "Let's see if the witch burns."

The tube supplied the 65-year-old with oxygen via a nasal cannula. Because the oxygen supply was only set to four liters per minute, the smoldering cigarette only caused a burn hole and no injury, the police said.

Police appeal for witnesses
