Styrian biker involved in fatal accident in Salzburg

A motorcycle ride in Salzburg's Lungau region came to a tragic end for a Styrian on Friday: the 58-year-old crashed on a bend and skidded into an oncoming group of bikers. The Styrian died of his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.

In Ramingstein (Salzburg) on Friday morning, the 58-year-old biker from Styria skidded onto the right-hand side of the road in a long left-hand bend and hit a road post. He crashed and skidded into an oncoming group of seven motorcyclists. The fourth rider in the group, a 63-year-old German, was unable to prevent a collision despite braking hard.

While the Styrian died at the scene of the accident, his 58-year-old passenger and the motorcyclist from Germany were injured and taken to hospital. The country road had to be completely closed for two hours while the victims were treated and the vehicles were recovered.
