Now the cat - or mask - is out of the bag! Kylian Mbappe will play against the Netherlands with a carbon face mask in the France colors (blue-white-red), should he be able to play after breaking his nose.

Will Mbappe play or not play after breaking his nose in the European Championship opener against Austria? One day before Friday's match in Leipzig, France boss Didier Deschamps was confident that he would have his captain available.

However, everything now points to the new Real star playing. "It's going in the right direction that he'll be available tomorrow," said Deschamps after training on Thursday, during which Mbappe also showed off his mask for the first time.

Immediately after the Austria match, he asked his fans on Instagram for suggestions for the mask. Many called for a "Ninja Turtle" look, but in the end it turned out to be a face mask in France's national colors with a rooster on the forehead.
