The earth shook in the Tyrolean Oberland on Thursday

On Thursday morning, the walls shook in the Landeck area (Tyrol). A slight earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 was measured there. It is unlikely that any people were injured and damage to buildings is rare at this magnitude.

According to the Austrian earthquake service of Geosphere Austria, an earthquake occurred around 11.14 a.m. about five kilometers east of Landeck. This was felt with a magnitude of 2.6. "The quake was felt slightly by some people. No damage to buildings is known and is not to be expected at this magnitude," explains seismologist Fee-Alexandra Rodler.

Earthquake wave in January
There was already a real series of earthquakes in Tyrol at the beginning of the year. At that time, the district of Kitzbühel and the Tyrolean lowlands were affected. Within just a few days, 60 measurable earthquakes were recorded there.
