The next broken nose at the European Championships - after France's superstar Kylian Mbappe, Switzerland's Fabian Schär has now also been hit. Impressively, the defender did not have to be substituted and played through against Scotland (1:1).

It was a bad day for Fabian Schär. He was already unfortunate when he conceded the goal. Had the central defender not lifted his foot after a counter-attack and shot by Scott McTominay, goalkeeper Yann Sommer would probably have been on hand. But Schär deflected the ball unstoppably.

The next unfortunate incident came a few minutes later. The Swiss player collided with Scotland's Anthony Ralston and Schär's nose bled. "It's broken," he told the Swiss medium blue after the match. Nevertheless, he played the game to the end.
