The best bands march in a competition

Brass bands from all over Austria and South Tyrol march in Bischofshofen. Hundreds of musicians are in action.

The seventh edition of "Music on the Move" brings the best marching brass bands to Bischofshofen this weekend. The six bands from Austria and South Tyrol already had to face the compulsory program (level D) on Friday. On Saturday, the freestyle follows in the outrun of the ski jump area - the difficult show program including formation evaluation.

"70 percent of all performances on the street " 
More than 350 musicians march and make music under the strict eyes of the jury. "70 percent of all performances take place on the street and while marching," says Matthäus Rieger. The man from Scheffau is Vice President of the Austrian Wind Music Association. "In Bischofshofen, only the best bands really take part."

 The fans also get their money's worth. The formations can be viewed particularly well from the spectator stands on the ski jump.
