Next hiker rescued in Kleinwalsertal

After a German hiking group got stuck at around 1800 meters on Tuesday, another German had to be rescued on Wednesday. The path between the Obere Derrenalpe and the Obere Spitalalpe was also his undoing. 

The 33-year-old hiker from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia was on his way from the Obere Derrenalpe towards the Obere Spitalalpe on Wednesday afternoon. He had to cross some old snow fields.

Rescue services notified
Like the six German hikers the day before, he was unable to descend any further. He made an emergency call. A short time later, the German's hiking trip came to a happy end: the crew of the Christophorus 8 emergency helicopter rescued the 33-year-old and brought him down to the valley uninjured.
