A few clicks - and grocery shopping is on your doorstep in no time at all: online supermarkets are becoming increasingly popular. Alongside Alfies and Gurkerl, the established chains have also discovered the online market for themselves. We have taken a look at what hungry customers need to know when ordering.

Domestic food retailers make less than five percent of their turnover online, but the segment is likely to continue to grow. According to the Statista forecast, sales are set to rise from around half a billion euros at present to 900 million euros by 2027. The business is now so lucrative that providers such as Gurkerl and Alfies are focusing exclusively on doorstep delivery.
