Despite a coup by a duo of Georgian serial offenders, the small Waldviertel Thayatal Vitalbad in Raabs an der Thaya is on course for a record number of guests. In the meantime, everything there has been restored to normal. The criminals ravaged many restaurants and caused a six-figure sum in damages.

The small Waldviertel wellness oasis in Raabs an der Thaya only just missed the 60,000 guest mark last year. This year - despite massive devastation by a duo of Georgian burglars - it is still on course for a record.

4000 euros stolen, 20000 euros damage
When repairs were carried out after the break-in, the larch wood decking was also replaced. "The damage amounted to 20,000 euros, with the demolished safe alone costing 7,000 euros. 4,000 euros were stolen," summarizes spa boss Franz Fischer.

"Tour" through Lower and Upper Austria
During their raid in May, the perpetrators reportedly broke into restaurants and swimming pools in Lower and Upper Austria, stealing 50,000 euros. They caused 100,000 euros in damage. In addition to Raabs, they also targeted Tulln, Rastenfeld, Spillern, Elsarn im Straßertal, Zwingendorf, Mistelbach, Klosterneuburg, Krems, Hollabrunn and Zeiselmauer.
