Vienna: Man allegedly abused woman and children

An employee of a hospital in Vienna-Favoriten raised the alarm after seeing the serious injuries of a woman and her daughter during an examination. The 28-year-old woman and her eleven-year-old daughter came to the hospital on Saturday with injuries indicating blunt force trauma, as the police reported on Sunday. The father is also said to have been aggressive towards the other 13-year-old daughter in the past. 

The 36-year-old man and father with Afghan nationality is suspected of having beaten and attacked his wife and the two girls. In the course of initial questioning by officers from the Favoriten municipal police department, the relatives gave different accounts. The suspect denies all allegations.

The 36-year-old was banned from entering the premises and from approaching the suspect, and a temporary weapons ban was issued. He is being charged on suspicion of continued violence and assault at large.

Another incident in Favoriten
On Sunday night, there was another incident of domestic violence in Vienna-Favoriten: a 31-year-old man allegedly tried to force his way into the apartment of his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend. The Austrian is also said to have threatened to kill her. The police officers from the Favoriten municipal police station were alerted and were able to arrest the suspect outside the apartment. He was also banned from entering and approaching the apartment and a temporary weapons ban was issued. He is currently being held by the police.
