Gang of youths beat 19-year-old into hospital

Fists were flying after the Kirtag! In Liesing on Thursday, a 19-year-old was badly beaten up by a gang of youths. A manhunt is underway for the beating mob, the victim ended up in hospital with head injuries.

Politicians clearly still have some work to do in the fight against growing youth crime. On Thursday evening, for example, two young Viennese were beaten up in the area of Maurer Hauptplatz in Liesing, where a fair is taking place. After the stands and rides had already closed, the duo got into a heated argument with several unknown youths.

One 19-year-old was punched and kicked severely and was left lying on the ground seriously injured. The gang then ran off. Only a short time later, the police and emergency services arrived, but by then the attackers had already disappeared under the cover of night. After initial treatment, the victim was taken to hospital with moderate head injuries. 

At least five perpetrators
The manhunt for the beating mob is underway. According to witnesses, there are said to be at least five boys with a southern complexion, estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old.
