An action by climate activists during a speech by Upper Austrian Governor Thomas Stelzer in Nussbach caused a stir at the weekend: The police took away a protesting ex-ski racer. Now the former top athlete and the head of the province are speaking out.

"They do these disasters more often", shouted former ski racer Julian Schütter (26) - standing on a beer table, pointing a raised index finger at LH Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP) on the stage - into the microphone before he was grabbed by his jacket by two police officers, dragged off the table and escorted out of the marquee.
