Nicki Minaj makes up concert after arrest

Rapper Nicki Minaj wants to make up for a concert in Manchester that was canceled due to her temporary arrest on Saturday. 

The concert planned for Saturday evening in Manchester was canceled after the 41-year-old was detained for several hours at Amsterdam airport for having cannabis in her luggage.

The public prosecutor's office imposed a fine of 350 euros and then allowed the international star to continue her journey to a concert in the UK, the Dutch news agency ANP reported.

According to ANP, a spokesperson for the Dutch border police said that it was "less than 100 grams, but enough to impose a fine". Minaj herself reported the incident on X, among others, and spoke of joints. Her bodyguard explained that they belonged to him. "This is Amsterdam, by the way, where smoking weed is legal," she continued.

The venue in Manchester was already full when the announcement of the concert's postponement was made, as a video on the Sky News website showed.

According to the report, some fans had been waiting outside the venue since the early hours of the morning to get seats close to the stage. After a concert in Birmingham on Sunday, Minaj is expected to perform again in Manchester next Thursday.
