Investigations against Ukrainian commanders

Investigations have been launched against 28 commanders in Ukraine. The officers are accused of failing to properly organize the defence on the border with Russia.

After the attack on 10 May, the Ukrainian army had to evacuate its forward positions and several villages. Armed forces lost their lives and equipment was destroyed, Ukrainian media reported. As a result, proceedings have been initiated against 28 commanders. Several units such as the 125th Brigade are affected.

General replaced
The commanding general at Kharkiv has already been replaced. In addition, the governor of the region inquired with construction companies as to why fortifications had not been built as ordered.

The advance of Russian troops in the region was only slowed down after a few days (see video above). The heavy fighting at the front continues. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on Friday that the Ukrainian army had regained control there. "The Ukrainian defense forces have stopped the Russian troops in the Kharkiv area and are carrying out counter-offensives," he announced.

Russians 20 kilometers from Kharkiv
The Russian forces launched the ground offensive two weeks ago and occupied several Ukrainian villages. The frontline troops are currently less than 20 kilometers from the regional capital Kharkiv. According to experts, the new Russian attack is intended to tie up Ukrainian forces and push Russian artillery forward to firing range.
