Viennese (47) brutally stabbed with a knife

There was another bloody knife attack in Vienna on Tuesday morning. A 22-year-old man attacked a 47-year-old man with a knife in Donaustadt. He was seriously injured and flown to hospital.

It is still completely unclear why the attack occurred on the street at around 10.40 am. According to the police, there had been a heated argument between the two beforehand. Attentive witnesses immediately alerted the police. Further information on the background is not known.

To hospital by helicopter
The 47-year-old was seriously injured in his upper body during the attack. A Viennese rescue helicopter took him to hospital as quickly as possible. However, he was not in a critical condition. The 22-year-old was also slightly injured.

The suspect was provisionally arrested and the knife was confiscated. The two men are still being questioned. Further investigations are ongoing.
