Urgent food donations for animal food banks requested

The wave of inflation is also hitting many pet owners hard. Food banks, where free food for dogs and cats is distributed, are an important source of support. But help is also needed to stock them.

The Tauschitz family from GU has a big heart for animals - and this was reflected in the founding of the "Phönix" association. It does not place animals, but collects food donations, which in turn benefit animal welfare organizations. As well as animal owners who are in financial crisis.

On the first Saturday of every month, an animal table is held where people (with appropriate proof of income) receive food for their pets. These can be handed in beforehand at Billa, Spar and Öbau Reisinger in Frohnleiten, the next food bank is on June 1st at the "Oberlandler Sterzhütte" in Rintpark.

Stibis Hundeparadies in St. Barbara im Mürztal, an association that has been equipping and looking after several animal food banks for a long time, is also urgently requesting donations. Pet owners are supplied locally, but also in Gleisdorf and neighboring Burgenland. Food can be handed in directly at Scheibsgraben 24 in Wartberg im Mürztal and at the Gleisdorf town pharmacy.
