What the new Trump era means for death row inmates

Donald Trump is not yet in office - again - but detailed plans are already underway behind the scenes as to how he could tighten the death penalty. This would also have an impact on the death row inmates currently awaiting execution.

He likes to boast about records that are often not factually verifiable. But in one respect, it is official that Trump was the lone leader during his US presidency: he sent 13 condemned prisoners to their deaths in the last six months of his term - more than any other president before him in such a short period of time. Just a foretaste of a possible second term.
