Dominik Wlazny steps down as district councillor

Apparently, beer party founder Dominik Wlazny now wants to concentrate fully on federal politics. The 37-year-old musician and cabaret artist is resigning from his position as district councillor in Vienna-Simmering.

Meanwhile, the candidacy of Wlazny's beer party in the National Council elections in the fall is taking on ever more concrete form. The first candidates were presented at a press conference last week. 

There are no well-known names among them, which is due to the fact that the party is not relying on "established" politicians. Wlazny did not provide any concrete content and asked for understanding that they are still working on the party program, known as the "menu".

Wlazny's beer party achieved 1.8 percent and eleven district council seats in the 2020 Vienna elections.
