The long weekend is already starting today with traffic jams. Due to the mega roadworks on the A10 between Golling and Werfen, traffic is already at a standstill on numerous alternative routes. And this is despite exit closures on the Tauernautobahn.

Many drivers have already started their journey south today. The result: traffic jams on all routes in the direction of the short vacation. Tens of Salzburgers were stuck in the traffic jam with the transit traffic. While some ventured into the traffic jam, others tried to get off the Tauernautobahn (A10) to avoid the traffic jam. Despite exit closures, it was no longer possible to make progress in Puch or Golling, for example.

"Traffic was still fine in the morning. Since the afternoon, it's been a disaster," a local resident told the Krone. No improvement is expected in the coming days. 

Those who were not in the motorcade on the way to their vacation also had to wait in the rain in the evening traffic on the A1 heading north. It took a good 45 minutes from Salzburg Airport to the Eugendorf/Wallersee exit.
