“Around the castle”: oxygen cure for the brain
One of Austria's most popular reading festivals will once again feature many literary stars and a colorful program around Vienna's Burgtheater on 10 and 11 May.
Under the motto "Literature is oxygen for the brain", the popular reading marathon "Around the Castle" will take place again this year. A colorful program of prose, poetry, music and stories will be offered on 10 and 11 May.
What's new this time is that the readings and discussions will take place at various locations around and in the Burgtheater for the first time: in the Vestibül of the theater, in the Vestibül restaurant and in the Meierei in the Volksgarten.
The series of readings will be opened on May 10 at 4 p.m. by Nino from Vienna - the musician will present his authorial debut "Kochbuch Take 16". Other highlights include Valerie Fritsch, Dirk Stermann, Julya Rabinovich, Renate Welsh and Barbi Marković.
The following day, Otto Brusatti and Max Gruber, among others, will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Franz Kafka's death with short stories.
