Knife attack in Vienna: An argument between three men is believed to have escalated completely on Tuesday night. A 30-year-old Nigerian national is said to have gone completely berserk. According to police information, he stormed out of the apartment of a 24-year-old and then returned with a kitchen knife. He used the knife to seriously injure the man and a 26-year-old friend.

According to police spokesman Mattias Schuster, the get-together between the three men in a sheltered housing facility in Vienna-Meidling escalated at around 11pm. One of the two victims was in mortal danger due to the severe cuts and stab wounds.

The 24-year-old had cuts to his hand and upper body, the 26-year-old to his upper body.

Preliminary arrest
When the police arrived, the suspect was already being held in the apartment by several neighbors. He was provisionally arrested. The murder weapon was also found in the apartment.

Psychological problems
Both victims received emergency medical treatment from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and were taken to hospital. The arrested man is in police custody. The man is said to suffer from psychological problems. There was initially no motive for the bloody deed and the people involved could not be questioned at first.
