Vacationers’ car burst into flames after crash

Spectacular traffic accident on Tuesday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: A Tyrolean woman (40) drove her car, which was also carrying her one-year-old daughter, onto the oncoming lane in Kirchberg and collided with the car of a Swiss couple. The latter overturned and then even caught fire!

The accident happened shortly after 9.30 am on the B170 Brixentalstraße. The 40-year-old local woman was driving her car from Kitzbühel in the direction of Westendorf. Her one-year-old daughter was also on board in a child seat on the back seat.

Near Kirchberg, their car suddenly veered into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons. "This resulted in a collision with the oncoming car of a Swiss couple," reported the police.

Car overturned, occupants uninjured
The car of the holidaymakers (51 and 56 years old) skidded and overturned. "They were uninjured and were able to free themselves from the vehicle", the investigators continued.

Immediately afterwards, the car suddenly caught fire. The fire was ultimately extinguished by the Kirchberg fire department. Both vehicles sustained massive material damage.

Fortunately, the 40-year-old Tyrolean woman and her young daughter also escaped with a scare.
