Hidden in the engine compartment
Puppy traveled from Romania to Lübeck
A puppy has traveled from Romania to Lübeck as a stowaway. It had hidden in the engine compartment of a car and was not discovered by the driver during the journey. Two passers-by who had heard whimpering finally alerted the police.
The reports were received on Saturday night. "The callers heard dogs whining from a parked car," wrote the Lübeck police (Schleswig-Holstein) on Facebook on Monday. They sent a patrol to check the interior. However, no animal could be discovered there.
When a whimper was heard from the engine compartment, the team identified the car owner. He stated that he had just arrived from Romania. He had already heard a whimper there, but did not attribute it to his vehicle.

Infested with ticks and fleas
Together, they opened the hood and discovered a small black dog to the left of the engine block. A hose had to be removed to free him. The four-legged friend was weakened and suffering from tick and flea infestation. "The dog was handed over to the animal cab and taken to a specialist facility," the police said. The animal cab in Germany specializes in transporting pets.
The officers concluded from the story that the puppy had already climbed into the engine compartment unnoticed in Romania. He was taken to an animal shelter.
