A Pole (45) was clearly in too much of a hurry on the Brenner highway on Saturday night. He was flashed at 112 km/h in a 30 km/h zone near the main toll station. He has now lost both his driver's license and his car. This is the third vehicle confiscation within a few hours in Tyrol.

The Pole was driving in the area of the main toll station in Schönberg in the Stubai Valley at around 10.43 pm. The officers there must have been quite astonished when they caught the speeding driver. He was flashed at a whopping 112 km/h - in a 30 km/h zone!

The 45-year-old was subsequently pulled over. His driver's license was confiscated and his car was also temporarily impounded. He will be charged.

Two further vehicle confiscations
The highway racer in the Stubai Valley was not the only one to end the weekend without a license and vehicle. On Saturday night, police in the Zillertal valley caught a local driver (51) driving at 137 km/h instead of the permitted 60.

During a check in Kirchbichl, the vehicle of a 27-year-old biker was also confiscated. He was speeding along a main road at 208 km/h instead of the permitted 100 km/h.
