Arrest after series of burglaries in allotment gardens

A series of burglaries in Schwaz in Tyrol appears to have been solved. A witness led the police to the suspected perpetrator. He is said to have struck several times in an allotment garden settlement since April 22.

A manhunt was immediately launched. With success: a 47-year-old from Austria ran into the police. "Based on a comparison with the witness and the items he was carrying when he was arrested, two crime scenes in the allotment garden settlement could be assigned to him," the police said.

After consultation with the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was taken to Innsbruck prison. According to the police, it is not yet possible to say how much damage was caused by the burglaries.
