In NHL play-offs
Toronto forces game seven against the Bruins
The Toronto Maple Leafs have forced a deciding game against the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL play-offs. The Canadiens took a 2-1 lead in Toronto and evened the score at 3-3 after wins. For the second game in a row, the Maple Leafs had to deal with the pressure of being eliminated if they lost. William Nylander scored both goals for the hosts.
The Bruins only managed to tie the game through Morgan Geekie one second before the end - and are now in danger of failing as favorites in the first round of the Stanley Cup play-offs, as they did last year. In 2023, the Bruins squandered a 3:1 lead with three consecutive defeats against the Florida Panthers.
Game seven against Toronto will be played in Boston on Sunday night. The Bruins are the number two seed in the Eastern Conference.
