Overtaking maneuver ends in hospital for biker

A serious traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon in the Tyrolean Außerfern region: a German motorcyclist overtook a car in front of her and crashed into it. The 58-year-old crashed and was thrown onto the road.

The accident happened at around 1.45 p.m. on the L255 Planseestraße in the municipality of Breitenwang. According to the police, the German woman collided with the bumper of a car traveling in the same direction during an overtaking manoeuvre with her motorcycle. 

Woman left lying injured on the road
The 58-year-old was thrown from the motorcycle by the impact. She slid about five to ten meters over the asphalt and then lay injured on the road.

Rescue to hospital
After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the biker was taken to Reutte District Hospital by ambulance.
