Car went up in flames in an underground parking garage in Innsbruck
Fire alarm on Wednesday evening in Innsbruck: A car caught fire in an underground parking garage in the Pradl district. Within a very short time, the car was engulfed in flames. Fortunately, no one was injured. Work had been carried out on the car beforehand, which could have caused the fire.
Shortly before 9 p.m., the car suddenly burst into flames in the underground garage. It was finally fully engulfed in flames and the smoke development was enormous.
The fire department arrived with ten vehicles and almost 40 firefighters. "The fire was finally extinguished using heavy breathing apparatus," the police reported on Thursday.
Fire caused by work?
According to previous findings, various work had been carried out on the vehicle by a 24-year-old Bulgarian. "It cannot be ruled out that the fire broke out as a result of the work. However, further investigations to determine the exact cause of the fire are still underway," the investigators added.
Underground parking garage closed until further notice
Fortunately, no one was injured, according to the police. However, the car was totaled. The underground parking garage was also damaged. It cannot be used until further notice.
