Before the people of Leonding kicked off the outdoor pool season on today's public holiday in glorious weather, the new mega attraction at the Kürnbergbad was officially "inaugurated" yesterday - the "Krone" was also there to take a close look at the new adventure slide.

10.6 meters high and 92...meters long - no less than 30 meters longer than the old one - is the adventure slide, which cost Leonding's city council a million euros after its predecessor failed to get a "sticker" from the TÜV. Simple water play equipment or something special?

Secondary school pupils were the first to be allowed
The "Krone" wanted to find out more, editor Anna Jaschek fearlessly plunged down. But not as the first, this was reserved for fourth graders from Hart Middle School. The pupils had won yesterday's inaugural slide and celebrated it with a gleeful chuckle.

High fun factor thanks to many effects
The "Krone" editor was also impressed: "It was great fun. As you hurtle down, you are accompanied by light and sound effects as well as images. Which adds to the fun factor: The time is displayed at the bottom, so you can compete with your friends." SP city manager Sabine Naderer-Jelinek is happy: "We want to offer children and young people a special swimming experience, and we seem to be succeeding."
