Serious traffic accident between truck and cyclist

There was a serious traffic accident between a truck driver and a cyclist in Vienna on Tuesday. The latter was seriously injured.

A serious accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Vienna-Leopoldstadt: A truck driver is believed to have overlooked and hit a cyclist when turning. The 67-year-old cyclist was seriously injured, according to the police.

Several emergency vehicles deployed
Following initial emergency medical treatment, the Vienna Professional Rescue Service transported the victim to hospital. The rescue service itself was on the scene with several vehicles.

It was not initially clear exactly why the accident occurred. The 67-year-old was traveling on a type of protective path for cyclists. A breathalyzer test on the truck driver was negative.
