Neighbor’s car caught fire while fighting weeds

A strange operation for the fire department on Tuesday morning in Kufstein in Tyrol: when an 83-year-old local woman tried to tackle weeds with a hot air dryer, a hedge caught fire. The flames then spread to the neighbor's car.

At around 10.45 a.m., the 83-year-old was busy destroying weeds at the entrance to her house with a hot air dryer. In the process, weeds suddenly caught fire right next to a hedge. 

The senior citizen tried to extinguish the fire, but was unable to do so. The flames then spread to the hedge and the neighbor's car.

"Residents were able to contain the fire to some extent with a garden hose before the fire department was able to extinguish the fire completely a short time later," said the police.

Luckily, nobody was injured. It is not yet possible to estimate the amount of damage caused.
