Franz Lackner: Admonishing words from the Archbishop

The Roman Catholic Church in Austria is distancing itself from Austrofascism in the run-up to May 1st, the anniversary of the authoritarian May Constitution of 1934. 

Franz Lackner, Archbishop of Salzburg and Chairman of the Bishops' Conference, clearly criticized the Church itself: "Numerous representatives of the Church spoke and acted with great one-sidedness in favor of the dictatorship operating under the guise of supposedly Christian politics."

We should learn from this failure.
