Brave sales clerk locks robbers in the store
In the English town of Smethwick in the West Midlands, two teenage robbers held up a small store with a machete. But they had not reckoned with the courageous store employee and brave passers-by ...
Surveillance camera footage that has now been released shows the machete-wielding youth threatening the sales clerk and saying "We're going to stab you, give me the damn money", while his buddy begins to help himself from the shelves.
But the clerk remains unimpressed, throws two bottles of wine in the direction of the robbers, runs out of the store and holds the front door shut. The criminal armed with the machete desperately tries to open the door and finally smashes the glass door, partially shattering the pane.
Courageous passers-by help the employee to keep the door locked. The two perpetrators eventually fled from the store through a window, but one of them, a 17-year-old, has since been arrested by the police.
