"I am ready"
Tamara Tippler makes her comeback after baby break
Tamara Tippler's comeback has been confirmed since Monday. As the Austrian Ski Association announced, the 33-year-old Styrian will return to "full racing action" in the upcoming World Championship season. Tippler became a mother in September 2023, but had never ruled out a return. At the World Cup final in Saalbach, she got a taste of racing again as a forerunner.
She wanted to "show that you can still achieve top performances in top-class sport as a mother and that it is possible to combine family and career in professional sport," said Tippler. "I'm well aware that it won't be easy, but I'm ready to take on the challenge." She has stood on the World Cup podium ten times in her career to date.
Tippler "is determined"
Tamara is determined to continue her skiing career and of course we want to support her. Her positive personality will certainly enrich our team again," explained head coach Roland Assinger.
Two athletes, Sabrina Maier (29) and Michaela Heider (28), announced the end of their careers. Also thwarted by injuries, both speed specialists tried unsuccessfully to establish themselves at the very top of the world.
