“Denglish”: How much does it bother you?

Some people find them a thorn in their side, others see them as completely normal: English expressions that we have adopted into German. We often speak of "Denglish" in a derogatory way. In some cases, we are no longer even aware that terms originally came from English - words such as "meeting", "shopping" or "teaser" are now used as a matter of course. 

Anglicisms have become indispensable, especially in the business world, but also in technology and youth language. However, loan words in German are not limited to English. For example, there are also many French terms that have become naturalized in Germany. Nevertheless, English has a greater influence as a world language. And especially when it comes to brevity and conciseness, it has a lot of advantages over German and simply sounds more modern. At the same time, however, this can also lead to traditional German words being forgotten and the diversity of German terms no longer being so present to us.
