Together with Stiegl, the "Salzburg Krone" is once again looking for the "most beautiful maypole in the country". The main prize for the winner is something to be proud of: 1000 liters of Stiegl Goldbräu!

How time flies! While the snow is still smiling down from the mountains, it's already May again. And in this month, a wonderful custom takes place all over the country: the maypole erection.

May makes everything new! And for many generations we have represented this new beginning in the maypole.(Bild: zVg)

The custom of erecting a tree as a sign of life, a symbol of fertility and joie de vivre, dates back to the Middle Ages in Austria. Today, the erection of the maypole is celebrated as a real festival and adorns the main squares of many places in the country.

The "Salzburg Krone" and Stiegl are once again looking for the "most beautiful maypole in the country" this year. All traditional groups can take part. Each entry will receive a 25-liter barrel of Stiegl. The maypole winner chosen by a jury will receive 1000 liters of Stiegl Goldbräu!

• Every registration receives 1 crate of Stiegl Goldbräu.
• Every maypole published in the "Salzburg Krone" will be rewarded with a 25-liter barrel of Stiegl Goldbräu.
• The main prize for the most beautiful maypole is 1000 liters of Stiegl Goldbräu on tap.
• The 2nd place receives 100 liters of Stiegl Goldbräu on tap.
• The 3rd place receives 50 liters of Stiegl Goldbräu on tap.
