Thrown against head
Dispute over dirty glass ends in court
"I have to stay outside" - a customer who threw a beer glass at a waiter's head in Linz at the end of January because it was too dirty for him deserved this sign. At the trial in Linz, the previously blameless thrower received a nine-month conditional sentence, not legally binding.
Wild insults, a scuffle and a thrown beer glass. A party night on January 22nd ended in hospital for a Linz waiter (46). A 41-year-old Turkish man got so upset about a dirty glass of beer that he threw it at the employee's head.
The wound behind his left ear had to be stitched with 18 stitches. On Tuesday, the two met again in the Linz provincial court. The non-appealable sentence for the blameless man: nine months conditional imprisonment. He must also pay the waiter a partial compensation of 1000 euros.
