NHL: Eleven goals in Oilers win over LA Kings
The Edmonton Oilers kicked off the NHL play-offs with a 7-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday (local time). Zach Hyman, who scored a triple, and Oilers star Connor McDavid with five assists were outstanding.
The Oilers and Kings will meet in the first round of the play-offs for the third year in a row. The first team to win four games advances to the second round.
Toronto equalizes
Also in the Western Conference, the top-seeded Dallas Stars started the best-of-seven series with a 4:3 home defeat against the Vegas Golden Knights. In the East, the host Boston Bruins lost 3-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs to tie the series at 1-1. The Carolina Hurricanes, on the other hand, moved to 2-0 in the series with a 5-3 home win over the New York Islanders.
