Investments attract many guests

Even if it's cool now: the summer weather at the beginning of April brought a strong start to the season in Podersdorf.

The signs are there for a sensational season in Podersdorf am See: The lake has 36 centimeters more water than last year, the campsite was sold out around Easter, and the perfect weather since the end of March brought 14,600 paying guests to Podo Beach.

Even though the temperatures are now back to what we are used to in April, the municipality's tourism managers are more than satisfied so far. "We've had three weekends with record temperatures and our events have been very well received," says Rene Lentsch, Managing Director of Podersdorf's leisure facilities. "That's why we can present our first results earlier than ever before."

And, as already mentioned, it is very positive. Now, of course, they hope that things will continue like this. But they are also quite prepared to do something about it. There are countless events on the program until the end of the year. Next, the Okidoki Tour will make a stop in the lakeside community, SonnWein & Music will be held seven times, and in July and August it will be "Show Time" again.

One of the latest investments on the family beach was the largest bouncy cushion in Austria. On 21 x 10 meters, tens of children can let off steam at the same time. It was already one of the attractions for the little ones at Easter. But there is still more to come.

Still to come:
Previously rather neglected, the "Podo Relax" area is now being revitalized. Chakra pictures by Luis Sloboda were installed in the fall of last year and invite you to relax. A yoga platform will be set up next week. As the name suggests, yoga can be practiced here. But there are also other ideas for the covered platform. For example, it would be possible to offer a wedding location here.

There will also be a barefoot path in the relaxation area. "You should learn to feel yourself and your body again, relax and simply come down," says Rene Lentsch. 

There will also be a few new features in the Podo Active area. A calisthenics facility is planned, a basketball court is to be built and clay tennis will also soon be possible in Podersdorf. 

Quiet dreams of the future
The renovation of the pier is currently on hold, even though there has already been a winner in an architectural competition. "The conditions were different in 2021. We haven't shelved the renovation, we've just postponed it," explains Lentsch. They are still working on it in the background. After all, the view of the lake is to be "tidied up" at some point and the lake can be experienced on three levels. An investment in the Podo Active area with a new, large and central entrance, an event stage, a large sand arena and meeting rooms is also a dream for the future, albeit a little further down the line. "The master plan for the future Podersdorf is in place," says Lentsch. "Now the investments of the past few years have to pay off so that we can say we are continuing to build." 

The conditions already look quite good this year. If enough money comes in this year, we can continue working and invest again. The aim of those responsible for tourism in Podersdorf is for guests to go home and talk about how wonderful their vacation was. Their message must be: Podersdorf is always worth a trip and a vacation! You have to go there, it was great!
