Man arrested
Bomb threat: Danish airport cleared
The airport in Billund, Denmark, was temporarily evacuated on Saturday due to a bomb threat. A suspicious object was also seized. One suspect is in custody.
According to the police, the man arrested was a man in his 30s who had informed the police himself that he had placed an object containing explosives at the airport. According to the investigators, they found the suspicious object. It "probably contained explosives", they explained. Chemical tests would now be carried out to confirm this. The authorities did not disclose what the object was.
The airport was able to reopen after the temporary closure at around 7 p.m. and air traffic resumed. The background to the threat remains unclear for the time being. Several flights were canceled or postponed due to the hour-long closure.
