Animal abusers on the loose

A walker (50) found a possibly poisoned bait on the side of the road to the train station in Graz-Straßgang on Saturday morning. The investigation is ongoing. There was already one dead dog.
At around 9.30 a.m., a 50-year-old man from Graz was out walking his dog when he discovered two meat-like pieces in a grass verge by the side of the path. They were found in the area of the path to the dog meadow in Josef-Krainer-Park. The pieces of meat appear to have been mixed with an undefined substance by a previously unknown perpetrator. The 50-year-old was in all probability able to prevent his dog from eating the suspected poisoned bait. However, the dog is still under observation.
The police officers who were notified seized the pieces of meat and arranged for an investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
At the beginning of March, a dog in the Wetzelsdorf district died from a poisoned bait, and days earlier several poisoned baits were discovered in the Eggenberg district. Apparently a dog hater is still on the loose in the west of Graz.
