Chelsea surprise in CL semi-final at Barcelona!

Chelsea's women's soccer team surprisingly won the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at defending champions FC Barcelona 1:0! 

Erin Cuthbert (40') scored the only goal of the game in front of 36,428 fans in the duel between two national league leaders after preparatory work by Sjoeke Nüsken. Barca lost in front of their home crowd for the first time since 2019 because Alexia Putellas, who only came on as a 63rd-minute substitute, missed a great chance deep into stoppage time.

A penalty by the Catalans, who were superior on the pitch, was overturned by VAR for offside, while the English side, who were stronger in the tackle, appealed in vain for a penalty. The two teams had already met in the semi-finals last year. Back then, the Spaniards won 2:1 on aggregate. The second leg will take place next Saturday in London.

Lyon win intra-French duel
In the French clash between Olympique Lyon and Paris St. Germain, the hosts came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 with a super finish. Things did not go according to plan for Lyon in front of their own crowd at the OL Stadium for a long time, as PSG striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto scored shortly before the break (44') and immediately after the restart (48'). The runners-up in the French Division I Feminine were then on course to defeat their rivals, who had already been crowned champions.

However, six strong minutes in the final period ensured a turnaround that was no longer believed possible. Kadidiatou Diani (80'), Melchie Dumornay (85') and Amel Majri (86') were responsible for this with their goals. CL record winners Lyon, who had beaten St. Pölten twice in the group stage, now have the trump cards in their own hands in the battle to reach the final.
