Mercedes driver crashes while fleeing from police
Because he didn't want to be checked by the police, a young Swiss driver stepped on the gas and sped away from the officers - but his escape was short-lived.
In neighboring Sankt Gallen in Switzerland, there was a spectacular crash on Saturday night: at 3.45 a.m., a police patrol wanted to stop and check a car. However, the 24-year-old driver did not hit the brakes, but stepped on the gas and fled.
The police took up the chase. During his escape, the 24-year-old violated numerous traffic regulations and was also traveling at excessive speed. In the end, the man lost control of his Mercedes and crashed into two parked cars.
Flood of charges imminent
The driver and co-driver then fled on foot and were caught shortly afterwards. It then transpired that the driver was not in a fit state to drive and is now facing charges. The co-driver will also be charged with obstructing an official act.
