Maritime namesake
This animal sponsorship is really for the fish
A trendy landlord from Lower Austria has now taken on a sponsorship for his "swimming namesake" - but it was a coincidence that it came to this.
A vacation acquaintance with consequences: Despite decades of experience, a restaurateur from the Vienna Woods has now been surprised with a "Bläuel im Saft" on the menu in sunny Spain. The restaurateur shares his name with the Atlantic fish: Frank Bläuel runs the well-known hotel on the Tulbinger Kogel with his wife Ingrid and son and chef Georg.
Meticulous research
But the landlord had never heard of the swimming Bläuel, also known as the three-point longfin jack mackerel. It is not known whether he had ever tasted its maritime namesake - but it is known that this culinary coincidence never left him.
At home, the landlord did some research and quickly found out that Trachinotus ovatus can even be found in Austria. "But only in the Haus des Meeres in Vienna," laughs Bläuel. And he still didn't want to let the matter rest. So the hotelier has now officially adopted the Bläuel, who admittedly doesn't swim through the aquarium in Vienna's Flakturm, but is all the more lively for it.
