False alarm: Fire brigade “blew up” filming
The glow of flames in a Weinviertel field called a local resident to the scene: the film crew was surprised by the firefighters - both took it with a sense of humor!
The best scripts are often written in real life. A film crew had to be convinced of this last weekend in the Weinviertel. The team led by director and producer Richard Horn had come to shoot a night scene in a field near Untersiebenbrunn. With the consent of the farmer, a fire was also lit in the field. But this was not captured artistically by the cameras - it also caught the eye of a concerned local resident. Who of course immediately called the emergency services.
"Film off!" instead of a fire alarm
The local fire department then set out with 20 members to the supposed field fire - and the drama quickly turned into a comedy. Both the filmmakers and the firefighters were equally surprised by the turbulent scenes on location.
"It was rather unpleasant for the gentlemen that we had to go out for nothing," commander Jürgen Koczera tells the "Krone", but he holds no grudges. On the contrary: "We assured them that we'd rather nothing happened anyway. And of course you don't have to pay for a false alarm like this!"
Our credo is: It's better to call the emergency services once too often than once too little!
